Dia comes to the Accorda Faculty with 19 years’ experience of delivering Music-Thanatology to the bedside of the ill and dying and their loved ones. She was a board-certified music therapist for thirty years before receiving her certification with Music Thanatology Association International in August of 2008.
Dia provided music-thanatology services for Providence Everett Regional Medical Center in Everett, WA (2004-2017), Hospice of the Northwest in Mount Vernon, WA (2014-2019), and is currently on-call with WhidbeyHealth Hospice on Whidbey Island (since Sept. 2017).
Dia is a vocalist and composer, who enjoys performing with her M-Th colleagues in benefit concerts. She and her husband Tom have performed original music together and with their children at home on Whidbey Island, WA. Dia and longtime friend and colleague Jeri Howe CM-Th, have collaborated on four CDs of music for rest and contemplation. Three of them can be heard on the Harps of Comfort website.
