Help Us Grow the Future of Music-Thanatology
Dear Friends of Accorda,
In just five years, the Accorda Music-Thanatology Institute has grown from an inspired vision into a licensed private career school, training compassionate clinicians who bring harp, voice, and presence to those at the end of life.
Because of your support, we’ve built a rigorous curriculum, trained a remarkable faculty, and this summer celebrated our first graduating cohort. Ten new music-thanatologists are now ready to serve at the bedside of people who need them, in hospitals, hospices and other healthcare settings.
“During my internship, I played for a patient in her final hours. Her daughter later told me the music helped her mother ‘let go in peace.’ That experience changed me forever.”
— Accorda Graduate, Class of 2025
As we prepare to welcome our next cohort, in September of 2026, we face new challenges. The economic climate makes it harder for students to commit to intensive, life-changing programs like ours. Yet in uncertain times, people also feel the strongest call to meaningful work.
Your gift today will help us:
- Reach and support future students called to this vocation.
- Strengthen and renew our curriculum.
Together, we are nurturing a movement of presence, compassion, and music that comforts the human spirit at one of life’s most tender and vulnerable thresholds.
With deep gratitude,
Jane Franz
